So, what goes into the birth of a production company? After years of freelancing, the next logical step in an upwards trajectory seems to be incorporation. After all, “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”, right? The development of the company DNA proved an exciting task for George. Determining the ins and outs, the branding, the strategy, the key contacts, envisioning the company coming to life. It was upon completion of this stage that happenstance stepped in. Mij had recently become available, having returned from Ireland where he shot one feature and twenty two shorts in the span of two years while working on other projects (crazy, I know) . On a Thursday evening in mid-August of 2023, Mij and George came together to review the company DNA. This was the first time George had presented the concept of Rapt Media, in full, to anyone. A three hour, in-depth read through and analysis of the DNA led both men to one conclusion. Rapt Media must happen and they were the guys to make it happen.
September 2023, the trade license is applied for and a new company is formed. Rapt Media is born. Spearheaded by George Dale and Mij Alhajeri, Rapt seeks to conquer the sports media world. It is agreed, by this point, and stipulated and strategised in the DNA that Rapt Media will be unlike any other production company. Avoiding nondescript branding and a generic approach to the media world, Rapt seeks to specialise in all things sport and documentary. A deep rooted passion for sports, mainly outdoor, adventurous and extreme sports, combined with a strong background in documentary filmmaking, with both founding members holding a masters in the area, this niche allows Rapt to focus on passion-driven content. The end product will always be stronger when the creation process is fuelled by passion.
Welcome to Rapt Media.
